Ziggy: 1997? - 2010

We lost Ziggy today. All his problems finally reached a point where there was nothing more that could be done and he just wasn't comfortable anymore. I don't know exactly how old he was because I found him in a car park when he was a puppy. I can't express how much I will miss him.

Willy and Ziggy: Update

Today Will had his cast removed, much to his delight. His leg is very sore and raw from being bandaged for so long, so he has to keep his collar on to prevent him making it worse with licking. It will take him a while to get the leg back to full strength but he is very happy (and so are we!!). He has also been neutered, as has his sister, Lyra, so that's one less worry.
The news for Ziggy (my dog) is not so great. He has lost weight but is still retaining too much fluid and it's creeping into his chest, which suggests both sides of his heart are now struggling. Tomorrow I'm taking him into the vet and they will try and drain some of it from is abdomen. If that goes well it should make him feel a lot better and give him some respite, for a while anyway.

I've been busy with illustrations for NoHo Noir and a couple of commissions, as well as taking care of my sick animals. Will the cat has got to keep his cast on for at least another two weeks, and Ziggy's heart and fluid retention problems mean regular trips to the vet, but he is doing ok and we're keeping on top of it.
